13th International Print Exhibit

  • Remarque Print Workshop 901 Edith Boulevard Southeast Albuquerque, NM, 87102 United States (map)

This exhibition continues Remarque’s annual tradition of showing cutting-edge prints from all over the world. Selected from over 300 applications, the 43 works in the show come from artists working in Bulgaria, Canada, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, and the US.

Through the jurying process, themes of geography and place emerged. Taken together, the pieces question the technologies and philosophies which have – literally and discursively – constructed “nature” as pre-social. The collection celebrates a “more-than-human” ecological framework, positioning human cultures within larger networks of life. Works in the exhibition explore globalization, mapping, climate change, immigration, memorial, national identity, agriculture, and the mediation of personal identity by physical and social landscapes.

In our era marked by nationalism, violence against migrants, and environmental crisis, these works speak to our world’s continuing redefinition of the boundaries between public and private, self and other.
